The Wedding Day
Bronwyn and Charlie knew Ashridge was the venue for them the moment they stepped onto the grounds. The star of the show? The enchanting Magic Circle ceremony space.
They knew as soon as they saw The Magic Circle that it was where they wanted to get married, all they had to do was hope for good weather! Luckily, their wish came true. Their wedding day was a gorgeous autumn afternoon, the entire celebration bathed in warm, golden sunshine—a perfect backdrop for saying “I do.”

Before the ceremony, Bronywn and Charlie shared a ‘first look’ where she showed off her amazing dress. The beautiful, unique wedding dress was designed and sewn for Bronwyn by her Mum. Then Bronwyn hand embroidered the gorgeous stitchwork on the dress.
Consequently the colours of pink, blue, purple and green became the theme for the wedding, woven into the décor, flowers and bridesmaids’ dresses from JJ’s House.

During the morning, Bronwyn and her bridesmaids enjoyed getting ready in the Old Laundry Cottage on site. The cottage has plenty of space and is perfect for everyone to get wedding ready. Before heading to the Magic Circle for the outdoor ceremony.

They had a beautiful ceremony, the backdrop of the autumn trees with the ‘Magic Circle’ of fir trees enveloping the couple and all their guests. The Magic Circle is special space for wedding ceremonies and we are so happy that the sun shone for them.
After Bronwyn and Charlie had exchanged their vows, they walked back down the aisle to Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder as guests showered them in confetti made from flowers grown and dried by Charlie’s mum.

Following the ceremony the wedding party took advantage of the glorious gardens and enjoyed drinks and canapes on the lawns. Then they did their speeches in the sunshine, before moving down to the Great Barn for their reception.

Next, they moved down to the Great barn, decorated with bunting and paper lanterns. The tables had hessian and lace runners, finished with flowers from Heathland Flowers matching in with their theme. The fairy lights sparkling magically away in the background.

Mean while they all enjoyed their reception feast. The food from 2915 Pizza was served from a very cool converted American school bus, the menu included wood-fired pizzas, chicken basquaise and vegetarian paella. Followed by tiramisu and a Kiwi-style pavlova.

There was a wonderful wedding cake made by a family friend and iced to match Bronwyn’s dress embroidery. The couple also cut the cake in line with family tradition, with a ceremonial sword which Charlie’s parents used at their wedding!

Afterwards they partied in the barn to tunes from the The Busketeers their first dance included a few choreographed dance moves thrown in! Then, the guests joined them on the dance floor and made the most of the fire pit outside toasting marshmallows, the end to a beautiful day!
