If you are dreaming of a beautiful medieval rustic barn full of twinkling fairy lights and original features, you may have just found the perfect venue for your wedding ceremony. With a large flexible space allowing for more intimate smaller wedding ceremonies or it can hold up to 120 seated guests.
Furthermore, with the barn being built around 1320, it holds a lot of history. The current owners renovated it and restored it in 2015. Readers can learn more about its history here.

Inside the barn
The barn stays cool in the summer heat and if it needs warming up during the autumn months there are several heaters that do just that.
The barn offers a flexible layout for ceremonies, and staff can tailor it to your wedding vibes. At Ashridge we remove the seating from your ceremony and set up for the wedding breakfast whilst you enjoy your drinks reception so you do not have to worry about the hassle of setting everything up through out the day.
We have a coordinator on site all day and will have a planning meeting to go through all the details so there are no surprises on the big day.

Ashridge Great Barn has layers of history, which you can feel when you walk through the doors. You can imagine the animals that were once kept there and the workers keeping busy on the land.
Consequently, it has been lovingly restored and repurposed, retaining much of its character. The barn is the perfect place for a wedding ceremony and party. There is a sprung dance floor, plenty of space for tables and a bar area, all with several electricity points.

Nevertheless, barn wedding venues provide a pretty, rustic backdrop you can style simply or luxuriously. Beautiful as it is, there is little need for added decoration, it is a stunning old barn. We love seeing how our couples style the barn and every wedding is different.
From the main barn there are doors that lead into the snug area, which as the name suggests is somewhere for guests to sit cosily on sofas and chairs. You can use this area as you wish, some couples bring in photo booths or games.
There are also toilets at the end of the barn with an accessible toilet, the barn is laid out to allow guests with limited mobility to move around and has wheelchair access.

Outside of the barn the space is very flexible with shade sails directly outside the barn next to the fire pit (perfect for marshmallows later) There is a green lawn area in front of the barn that is perfect for garden games.
